These steel grades belong to a group of fine-grained steel with high tensile strength, used in constructions where a relatively low weight is important, such as mobile hosting and lifting equipment, earthmoving machines and movable bridges.
S stands for Structural; 690, 960 and 1100 indicate the yield strength in N/mm² (MPa) for the smallest thickness range.
Q stands for Quenched.
L indicates that the notch impact value (27 Joules) was measured at a temperature of - 40°C.
L1 indicates that the notch impact value (27 Joules) was measured at a temeprature of - 60° C.
Products of these steel grades can be delivered in the following thickneses:
S690 QL(1) from 4 to 240 mm.
S960 QL from 4 to 180 mm.
S1100 QL from 4 to 20 mm.
Products can be delivered with 3.1 and 3.2 certificates
